1-on-1 with Caroline

Please note: In person sessions available on Big Island of HI, otherwise sessions are virtual at this time.

Individual psychotherapy with Caroline Culverhouse, MSS, LCSW, CGP, E-RYT provides a place to discover who you are and what you want. You will work together to find the authentic you beyond limiting thoughts, beliefs, experiences, and behaviors. Caroline sees her role as a psychotherapist as a collaborator on helping you help - and heal - yourself. You are the authority on you.

Caroline helps clients heal wounds from childhood to adulthood, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, dissociative symptoms, spiritual dilemmas, and more. She specializes in helping individuals with trauma reconnect their body, mind, heart, and spirit. Ultimately, clients experience themselves as whole people, empowered to follow their heart and live their unique truth.

Clients receive robust support in every aspect of life, from connections to relevant community resources to recommendations for supplementary external healing methods.

Therapy with Caroline applies an integrated approach, drawing on different schools of research & empirically-verified methods. Techniques vary by client and often include psychodynamic therapy, relational psychotherapy, somatic methods, and relevant movement or breath practices.

Caroline works with individuals who are interested in an approach to therapy lasting two years or more.  Sessions with Caroline will be a mix of in-person, phone, and videoconferencing.

Caroline does not work with individuals with active substance addiction or severe self-harming behaviors; however, once these behaviors have stabilized through acute care (inpatient treatment), she will work with clients on the next phase of their journey.

Tara Elliot, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), MA, RYT is a psychotherapist who takes a holistic approach to therapy by integrating the mind and body into the healing process through breathwork, meditation, and mindfulness. Clients will feel safe and supported by Tara when exploring life’s difficulties.

Therapy with Tara is a collaboration between therapist and client. Tara does not “fix” clients - because they are not “broken”!

Clients will learn self-awareness through the use of breathwork, meditation, and mindfulness techniques that aid their process of psychological and emotional healing. Therapy will support the client's whole being - mind, body, and spirit - to help them unite all aspects of life's experiences.

Further, each client receives a tailored approach to therapy to best suit their needs. This helps clients feel safe during sessions and provides space for them to explore life’s challenges.  The process is interactive; clients never hear, “How does that make you feel?”, the phrase many people associate with therapy.

Clients are drawn to Tara’s grounding, gentle, and calm nature. She uses observation and connection to challenge clients to help them gain new insights and awareness that facilitate deep healing - when they're ready for it! Tara’s clients report feeling accepted, validated, understood, and heard.

Therapy with Tara applies an integrated approach, drawing on different schools of psychological theory and research.

Tara does not work with individuals with active substance addiction or severe self-harming behaviors; however, once these behaviors have stabilized through acute care (inpatient treatment), she will work with clients on the next phase of their journey.
