About The Retreat Day
With nature unfurling its passion and preparing to rest from its potentiation of new life for months
to come, Fall is an ideal time for our nervous systems to begin to go inward and rest as well. To
unplug. To release. To gently gather up the fruits of our spring and summer into the sanctuary of
our heart-- where the knowledge and experiences gained can germinate into their next spring
becoming.
This fall reflection (un-plug) day retreat is a day of warm tea, gentle yoga, breathwork,
journaling, slow nature walks, and meditation in the tranquil wooded hOMe PYM retreat center
in Berks County, PA. It is a day meant to help us unplug from the overstimulation of modern-day
life and instead re-route ourselves towards inward regulation and calm just as nature all around
us is in the process of doing. Participants are invited to set gentle goals for how they will use
their winter months to germinate, percolate, and recharge. They are invited to reflect upon and
release onto the page and their breath all that has been boiling to the surface and wanting to be
named and released.
The great invitation of this retreat will be to remain screen-free for the day with one small
screens-on allowance during the lunch hour to check in on any family members or work
obligations that necessitate our attention. Otherwise, participants are encouraged to leave their
phones in the car and instead bring books or walking shoes for our small breaks.
This retreat day will leave participants feeling grounded, seen, held, and nourished and, for
some , hopefully proud of their ability to put the screen down for the day and go inward.
This retreat is facilitated by hOMe PYM co-founder, Caroline (“Carrie”) Culverhouse. For more
